Our highly structured programme provides students with a structured program of study in the literatures, linguistics, and cultures of the Spanish-speaking world. It is designed to prepare candidates for further study at the mastery or doctoral levels; for positions in business, social services, international relations, government agencies, foreign cultural affairs, homeland security, public administration, non-profit organizations, tourism and entertainment, and other organizations in need of trained language specialists.

The programme combines a unifying international focus with a multidisciplinary approach, enabling students to develop their language skills, social, historical, geographical and cultural knowledge, while also being introduced to European & LATAM politics, civilization, art, economy, literature, and international communication awareness to perfectly handle any kind of situation, proving a spontaneous capacity of adaptation to any context, with a great deal of semantic and grammatical precision and complexity of the Spanish-speaking world and other assorted countries at the European level from various perspectives. 

Students will develop a competitive edge through our innovative programme, bringing clarity to their future study and career ambitions or long-term learning goals. 

On successful completion of CEFR C2 Diploma, students will be able to move on to study for the Certifcate in Translation (English<>Spanish) Qualifications level 6 UK at Mastery levels. 

INTERNATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES

Students at CEFR C1 level will have the option to spend several days away from home at a partner institution abroad and may have the opportunity to work as a language assistant or undertake a work (or volunteering) placement, for a complete and enjoyable educational experience. 

Our Certificate in Spanish as a Foreign Language are divided into three TERMS:

C1 Post-Advanced (Term I)

Course length: 12 weeks 

The CEFR level C1 allows for a full range of functionality at work or in an academic setting. Students can produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects beyond their own field, developing particular points and rounding off with an appropriate conclusion. Also, can function independently on a wide variety of subjects and in almost any setting without any prior preparation.

C1/C2 Superior (Term II)

Course length: 12 weeks 

Our CEFR level C2 is essentially a master level. Students can express spontaneously, very fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in more complex situations and actively participating in any academic or professional setting. Preparing for and passing the DELE exam means students have the level of Spanish that’s needed to study or work in a senior professional or academic environment, for example the Certificate in Translation (English<>Spanish) Qualifications level 6 UK, any postgraduate course, or PhD programme.

C2 Mastery (Term III)

Course length: 12 weeks 

Our CEFR level C2 is essentially a master level. Students can express spontaneously, very fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in more complex situations and actively participating in any academic or professional setting. Preparing for and passing the DELE exam means students have the level of Spanish that’s needed to study or work in a senior professional or academic environment, for example the Certificate in Translation (English<>Spanish) Qualifications level 6 UK, any postgraduate course, or PhD programme.

Lessons focus on four skills and four systems of Spanish, with level-based streams:

  • Living and working in Spanish speaking countries

Students will have the option 1-2 a month from a Special Interest masterclass or workshop, which focus studies on:

  • Hispanic Literatures & Literary Theory
  • Hispanic Cultures & Society
  • Hispanic Language & Linguistics
  • Sustainability Initiatives
  • Contemporary Spanish Theater

We work with Chartered Institute of Linguists (CIOL) to promote the value of language learning and can recommend the benefits of CIOL membership for linguists at all levels.

While we do not recommend taking two or more language programmes simultaneously, some may feel they have the capacity in their schedule to perform well. It is estimated that the participant will conduct 3 – 5 hours of independent study per week.
