A Professional Qualification for Professional Participants

Overview

The series of short courses in Business Spanish is offered at three different levels: Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced. Each level is subdivided into Phase I and Phase II, for a total of six separate short courses. Upon succesful completion of both phases of each level, the participant receives a certificate issued by the CSL.

Participants do not require any prior knowledge of Spanish or business to start. All the skills and knowledge will be acquired from the basic level throuth the intermediate and up to the advanced level at international standards. Our programme prepares participants to exceed expectations in the industry not only in this hemisphere, but also in the international arena.

The Business Spanish Beginner Phase (I) lays the foundation for specific communication in Spanish in the  business sector. It also develops the language skills of people already employed in this area, of those seeking new opportunities and for entrepreneurs considering business development and/or expansion. No prior knowledge of Spanish is required.

Participants are able to communicate with Spanish-speaking clients and counterparts using specialised vocabulary and structures.

Schedule:

  • Class duration: 2 hrs
  • Lessons per week: 2
  • Course duration: 12 weeks
  • Age: 18+

Admission Requirements:

  • A diploma in a business field
  • A copy of the student’s ID

The Business Spanish Beginner Phase (II) broadens scope of communication to include exchanges in various settings.

It also develops the language skills of people already employed in this area, of those seeking new opportunities and for entrepreneurs considering business development and/or expansion. 

Participants are able to communicate with Spanish-speaking clients and counterparts using specialised vocabulary and structures.

  • Age: 18+

The Business Spanish Intermediate Phase (I) fosters independent research and effective communication using specialised vocabulary and structures.

Participants begin to master nuances in grammar, expressions and vocabulary, and increase their level of fluency.

Participants are able to communicate with Spanish-speaking clients and counterparts using specialised vocabulary and structures.

  • Course duration: 16 weeks
  • Age: 18+

The Business Spanish Intermediate Phase (II) increases capacity of participants to conduct independent research and free effective communication using specialised vocabulary and structures.

Participants continue to improve mastery of nuances in grammar, expressions and vocabulary, and increase their level of fluency.

Participants are able to communicate with Spanish-speaking clients and counterparts using specialised vocabulary and structures.

  • Course duration: 16 weeks
  • Age: 18+

It also develops the language skills of people already employed in this area, of those seeking new opportunities and for entrepreneurs considering business development and/or expansion. 

Participants are able to communicate with Spanish-speaking clients and counterparts using specialised vocabulary and structures.

  • Course duration: 20 weeks
  • Age: 18+

Some of the evaluation components include group projects, assignments, oral presentations and tests in the four language skills: Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing.

At the end of each level (Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced), participants will receive a Certificate of Completion awarded by the CSL. On partial completion of a level (Phase I) participants may obtain a Transcript on request. In order to obtain a Pass, students must obtain at least 60% of the overall grade.
