Young Learner PROGRAMME

Spanish programme for Teenagers

AGE: 11 - 14 YEARS OLD​

This programme consists of two (2) academic years and follows the dates of the academic year of the Ministry of Education of Trinidad and Tobago, i.e. three terms (Sept. – Dec, Jan. – Mar, Abr. – Jul.) 

It is intended for participants between the ages of eleven and fourteen who are enthusiastic about Spanish and who wish to become bilingual and fully proficient in the language. 

No previous knowledge is necessary and students start from the very basic to the advanced level.

Classes are interactive and fun in order to foster curiosity and exploration of the Spanish language and culture. Students participate in real live communicative activities with professional native speakers.

Evaluation and certification:

Some of the evaluation components include group projects, assignments, oral presentations and tests in the four language skills: Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing.

At the end of this level, students are entitled, on request, to obtain a Transcript. In order to obtain a Pass, students must have at least 75% attendance and a pass mark of 60%. 

Certificates of Completion issued by the CSL are awarded on successful completion of all two (2) years of the Spanish programme.

SPANISH COURSE FOR CSEC & cape

This course is designed for local/resident students in Forms 4, 5 OR 6 of secondary school who are going to sit the CSEC or CAPE examinations.

The course covers the linguistic aspects of the Spanish curriculum for CSEC and CAPE. It includes practice of the three exam components: oral paper, written paper and listening comprehension/grammar/reading multiple choice paper. Students prepare and go over several Past Papers and learn strategic techniques to excel in the exams.
